AFI Dallas Wrap Report & Atlanta Projections
Posted on Monday, 07 April 2008 by Negin Farsad

Dear Shareholders,

Second quarter Nerdcore Rising screenings at AFI Dallas brought tremendous good fortune for Nerdcore Rising Industries, both in terms of brand equity and fun equity.

Sold out houses at the screenings led to an unprecedented upswing in committed Dallas-based fans, insuring future gains in area screenings.

The post-screening MC Frontalot show drew fans into the upper-indices of joy and rapping-alongedness. This is largely due to the total quality management of film sponsor and post-production house REEL FX. Wendy Teague (Supervising Manager of Cool), Kathryn Harper (Managing Director of Awesome Services), Brandon Oldenberg (Vice President of Unbelievably Chill) and Chuck Peil (Executive Vice President of Ridiculously Helpful) provided support services that cannot be quantified at this time because they were: OFF THE CHARTS!

Other items of note: Nerdcore Rising Industries would like to thank Moxygecko & company (from Austin) and the Stephenville 5 (from Stephenville). They imported a set of friendly eyes and enthusiastic/well-functioning ears to the screenings. It is our hope to continue outsourcing “love & support” operations to those two companies.

Retail consumption of t-shirts enjoyed a 1000% gain in Dallas up from zero (… ah… because we had never sold them before). Our retail efforts were so well-received that the web division of Nerdcore Rising Industries will also make them available for sale in the coming day. Literally, like tomorrow.

Future investments include the Atlanta Film Festival where screenings on April 12 & 15 are expected to parallel or even out-perform AFI Dallas. For shareholders interested in going to those screenings, please visit www.atlantafilmfestival.com for ticket information.

The Auditor’s Report of Details is below.

Sincerely Yours,

Negin Farsad
President & CEO of Nerdcore Rising Industries

Sigh...

00moxy crowd ^_^...
it was so fun and worth the trip ^_^...
we were first in line, of course, and then 30 or so min before showing millions of people showed up out of no where. the movie was great, which we already knew. and we got gaby to sing the zip code song, which rocked ^_^. the after party was great and we got to talked to front and bandon for awhile before the show. the performance was awesome and everyone, even the fancy looking ones, danced and had a great time. cant wait for it to come out on dvd, wanting to have a party for it in austin. thanks ^_^...

Indeed - we have big plans for the release of the DVD, including a possible renting of the drafthouse in which the film had its world premire! Peeps who made the movie are, of course, invited to join us!

00Plans for a general release?
Are there plans for a general release? SxSW was a nightmare, and as you noted on your blog, even badge holders had a tough time getting in.

Is The Drafthouse and/or Negin interested in showing NR outside of a festival? I still want to see it and would much rather see it at The Drafthouse with a cold brew and a hot pizza then at home with ... a cold brew and a hot pizza.

Ah... plans for release... that's the big question. We're working on it. I would rather all men, women and children see the film at an Alamo Drafthouse - I don't understand why we don't have those in every city! I heard somewhere that it was listed as the best theatre in the country which is not a surprise. I am interested in out of festival screenings and we're working on doing just that. We will keep you posted via this very website. Promise. Thanks again for giving a shit about the film!

00Giving a shit
I do give a shit! And in my own self-interest of seeing the movie succeed, I put my money where my mouth is and donated. When the DVD hits the store ... it's mine!

The Drafthouse is always playing independent films. I've lost track of how many times Mc Chris has made appearances at Drafthouse. The downtown Drafthouse is typically where they show the more obscure films, but the rolling road-show has it's fair share too.

If I had the cash to bankroll another Drafthouse, I'd quit my job today and sign up. My wife and I won't go anywhere else ... we're totally spoiled. I know exactly where I would put my Drafthouse ... I just need the cash.
